One more week 'till polish!


One more week of work left before we feature freeze. A stressful thought to be sure; we'll be on the grind more than usual this coming week. Want to see what we've done since last time?

First of all, the endscreen scouts are animated and posed as promised! Excuse the crusty gif, size limits on here really are brutal.


Some extra obstacles are joining the fray. We've added the biggest, baddest hurdle yet: the luxury yacht. You'll have fun dodging this one.



Do you notice anything familiar about one of those pickups? Hint: that's its natural environment: cold, cruel water. No, not the yacht.

Pickups now glow when coming toward you, and disappear with a poof when you pick them up:


Anddd, we have a loading screen that pops up after the first loading screen, the one mentioned last time. The compass needle will act as a spinning throbber, indicating that the game is loading. Should it stop on north when done? Maybe that's too much.


The devs also added some new spicy pickups: grab one to boost your speed, snag another to top up your energy, and our current favorite: the slingshot! Hurl a rock at your rival to knock them off. Give your opponents a rocky ride downstream!


By next time, we'll also have the main menu / title screen! The devs have got it implemented, but the visuals are still a work in progress. If the Lord sees fit and we finish it today, you'll see it on this devlog!
